VERBAL (Reading & Writing):
Week 1:
- Session 1. Reading: Detail Questions – Finding Information Using Keywords
- Session 2. Reading: Inference Questions – How to Infer Using Context Clues
- Session 3. Reading: Detail and Inference Using Lines & Question Chronology
Week 2:
- Session 4. Reading: Words in Context Simplified
- Session 5. Reading: Author’s Perspective and Tone (History Passages)
- Session 6. Reading: Evidence or Keywords?
Week 3:
- Session 1. Writing and Language: Grammar, Tenses & Pronouns
- Session 2. Writing and Language: English Word Structure and Contextual Use
- Session 3. Writing and Language: Simplicity and The Golden Rules of Writing
Week 4:
- Session 4. Writing and Language: Using Some Clues to Hack the Writing Section
- Session 5. Writing and Language: Figure Questions Practice
- Session 6. Writing and Language: Punctuate Correctly!
This program is composed of 12 sessions (12 hours), of theoretical and practical teaching. After
this, students can choose to participate in additional 6 classes (2 weeks: 3 classes/week) to gain
even more experience and knowledge.
MATH
Week 1:
- 1. Linear Equations: slope, perpendicular lines, and y-intercept
- 2. Systems of linear equations
- 3. Linear inequalities and systems of linear inequalities
- 4. Linear equations and inequalities: practice problems
Week 2:
- 1. Statistics: scatter plots and the line of best fit. Definitions of mean, median, mode, range, and the standard deviation
- 2. Statistics: problems related to statistical concepts
- 3. Quadratic equations: general form, graphs, and solution methods
- 4. Quadratic equations: vertex & practice problems related to parabolas and quadratic equations
Week 3:
- 1. Geometry: angles and shapes (perimeter, area and volume concepts)
- 2. Geometry: triangles and trigonometry
- 3. Geometry: Circles and the circle equation
- 4. Circles: circle equation further practice
Week 4:
- 1. Functions: graphs of polynomials
- 2. Functions: mathematical properties and operations with functions, polynomial division, and absolute value
- 3. Words problems
- 4. Equation problems
This program is composed of 16 sessions (16 hours), of theoretical and practical teaching. After
this, students can choose to participate in additional 6 classes (2 weeks: 3 classes/week) to gain
even more experience and knowledge.
Description:
The purpose of this group program is to improve the test takers’ understanding of questions and
overall verbal and/or math section score. After taking this course, students will:
- Become faster at solving SAT reading and writing and/or math questions
- Improve their verbal and/or math section scores by at least 100 points each (if they follow the program and complete self-practice tasks and homework fully)
- Learn how to ensure that their answers are correct in the exam
- Gain important linguistic and mathematical skills that will help them in their college years
